A Cheery Way to Manage Behavior

I love 123 Magic! I have modified this wonderful discipline technique a bit to fit my style of teaching. Here’s how I use it with my kids.

Using a Traffic Light theme, I assign my kids colors based on their behavior each day. Green represents good behavior, Yellow is a little naughty, and Red means it’s been a rough day.

I display the color circles on a board. At the end of the day I attach each student’s “avatar” (a paper clown or bear with their name printed on it) to the appropriate color. I also color the appropriate face on a sheet that I can send home if I feel the parents should know. Sometimes I send the sheet home with a green-colored smiley face because the student has done extra-special well!

Here’s a link to 123 Magic. Check it out!
