YAY!!!! School is out. BOO!!!!! I will miss the students.
I find that the end of the school year is often bittersweet. It is exciting to have another year finished and summer activities begin (like working in my garden, where I found these baby birds)!
For example, I love our community silent retreat which starts next week. (Take a look at Sr. Mary Core’s posts from last year’s retreat, for an idea of why I love it so much.) Our retreat is a wonderful time of peace and quiet after leaving a noisy and chaotic work environment. (Hey, I work with preschoolers. What can I say? 🙂 )
Summer offers a slower pace with not as much outside work to do. I can focus on my main work as a Benedictine. Prayer!
This week between school and prayer has also been about tying up loose ends, both in the classroom and in the liturgy office. My mother and I had a day together, too, which I treasure. It’s wonderful to have “Mommy and Me” time, as my little ones call it!
I truly hope and pray that all my students and their families have a wonderful, safe and prayerful summer. As for me, trust that I will be praying, for all of the people and families that make Grace Academy so … graced, and for you.
If you have wondered whether you might have a religious vocation, email me at smacdonald@smmsisters.org. I love to listen and share what I know!
Meantime, keep an eye out for posts about this year’s retreat. I want to share that, too! Blessings to you and your loved ones!!!
