We’ve been making pinwheels at school. They are full of color, pretty as can be! But that’s just one reason we’re making them.
We’re participating in Pinwheels for Peace, a project to show – and pray! – our support for peacemaking efforts worldwide.
Our Benedictine community has participated in years past as the Sisters have gathered around the bell tower to sing and pray on Peace Day (Sept. 21). So now our students will join in with hands, hearts, spirits, pinwheels … and prayers!!!
Since Peace Day is on the weekend, we will plant our pinwheels – with prayers inside each “petal” – next week. As they spin in the breeze, our prayers for peace will fly up to heaven! 🙂 Watch for more pics!!!
