Nobody is cuter than a preschooler at Halloween … or more excited. We had a wonderful day. The students had come to school in costume, so when it was time to begin our party we didn’t have to get dressed.
First, we paraded through the other classrooms (even the big kids thought our little ones were cute).
Then we marched back to our own room to play Pin the Wart on the Witch, which made everybody laugh. Then we made ghosts and ate Halloween sugar cookies.
I also taught the kids some of the history of Halloween. All Hallows’ Eve, which is the night before All Saints’ Day, means the day before the Holy Ones (All Hallows). Here’s an article that I used to get some background: http://www.silk.net/RelEd/halloween.htm
Cute as the children are, I’ve got to say I’m glad to get back to normal. Parties are exhausting!
