A Priest, A Dog, and a Lesson that Stuck!

Even preschool students stop to listen to homilies … especially when they come from Father Greg and his puppet dog! Last week, Father Greg and his puppet dog talked about signs and listening to God, and how it leads to following Jesus. The kids listened to every word.

Using signs that said Keep Out, Beware of Dog, Danger, and Stop, Father Greg asked us what could happen if we didn’t pay attention to them. Could we be in danger? Could we be hurt or hurt someone else?

When Father Greg asked for an example of what Stop means, one little girl said we need to let others go first. Father Greg agreed with her! He said it is important to let others go first.

Letting others go first shows that we are taking the time to listen to God; to think about other people, and not just ourselves.

Jesus always did that. When we stop to let others go first, we show we are followers of Jesus!

One of my students took this message to heart and all day along she told me whenever she let someone go first. Thanks, Father Greg, for your wonderful message!!!
