It was our theme last week. We had great fun reading several pig stories. Of course we started by reading the traditional Three Little Pigs. We continued with The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, which tells the wolf’s side of the story.
Other stories included: The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig, Where’s the Big Bad Wolf?, The Three Little Hawaiian Pigs & the Magic Shark, and The Three Little Javelinas. We then made a graph on the Smart Board to show which book was our favorite. This year The True Story of the Three Little Pigs was our favorite!
Then we talked about how it reminded us of the parable The Wise and Foolish Builder, from Matthew 7. Jesus taught that we need to build a strong house. We noted that the house most like the one built on a rock was the brick one. The three pigs were like the wise builder.
Even the Three Pigs offer a lesson in line with the Bible! Together, we found that we are building our life on God, our solid foundation. The kids got it and loved it. And I went home with a big smile on my face!!
