A Crazy Idea during Catholic Schools Week

Here's some silliness from last year's Catholic Schools Week!

Grace’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week started on Sunday with Masses at all 5 of our feeder parishes.

I went to the 8 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

We heard a wonderful homily about how Catholic education helps us learn how to follow Jesus. We heard parents speak about how much they appreciate Grace Academy, both for its academics and its Catholicism. And we were able to thank Grace families for all that they bring to the school.

Today, our plans were thwarted by the cold weather. 😦

We were supposed to wear our Alleman High School sweatshirts as we welcomed Alleman student ambassadors to our K-4th grades.

Let’s hope we have school tomorrow. It’s Crazy Day!

Here’s what we preschoolers plan to do:

First, we’re going to read the funny book Crazy Hair Day. We will learn the song too.

Then, we will start growing our own crazy hair guys by filling yogurt containers with soil and planting grass seed.

We will color faces for the yogurt containers (which I will laminate to protect them when watering the “hair”).

We will tape the faces around the containers and watch the crazy green hair grow.

Finally, we will – in a couple of weeks! – take a picture of all the crazy green hair guys and make a crazy class book.

And if it’s too cold tomorrow for school? Crazy, I know, but we’ll do it Wednesday! 😀
