My 2nd graders took the dots to lines lesson farther than the younger kids last week. They made geometric shapes. How?
First, they made 2 big dots, then 10 small dots. They took one big dot for a walk to a small dot, then to the other big dot, then to another small dot. They repeated this till all the dots were connected. Then they colored in the shapes!
Of course, there’s a God lesson here too. Alone, we are so limited in what we can accomplish. A dot is, after all, just a lonely speck. But dots that reach out to each other? Why, they become a whole world! That’s right. Together, we can make, become and be … anything! 🙂
